Not long ago, I joined the Wyeth team as the Enbrel Business Manager. Having worked in pharmaceuticals for a number of years, I was familiar with Enbrel as a product and incredibly impressed with what it could do. I wanted to work with a life-changing drug that I truly believed in, so when the opportunity arose I jumped at the chance.I’ve always enjoyed being in a position of responsibility where I’m involved in making important decisions. Within the organization, Enbrel is particularly valued, with more than half of the company’s growth worldwide stemming from its progress. Being able to actively participate in this process is a source of constant stimulation - knowing that the work I’m doing is important, makes every task significantly more satisfying.
Day to day my work is incredibly varied; a true combination of sales and marketing which is great because it means that I never get bored. There’s a lot of strategy building and lobbying involved plus I get to interact with a wide range of people, which keeps things interesting.
It can sometimes be a little awkward starting at a new job, but I must say I found the atmosphere at Wyeth immediately comfortable and welcoming. Wyeth has an extremely healthy workplace culture which is both motivating and inclusive. I’m thoroughly enjoying my new role and looking forward to many more years of it!
